Villanova Tulo

Villanova Tulo is a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari with about 1,158 inhabitants, 571 metres above sea level.

Villanova Tulo is a Sarcidano village at almost six hundred metres between Isili and Laconi, overlooking Lake Flumendosa. It was founded in the second half of the 15th century by the Carroz family in the fief of Mandas, probably to control its eastern borders. Its territory holds the Adoni nuraghe, a complex with a central tower and four towers joined by an outer wall, and other nuraghi. The village has the parish church of San Giuliano from 1663, and some murals by Pinuccio Sciola decorate its streets. On the first Sunday of June the patron's feast of San Giuliano combines with the cherry festival, as the village is a major producer. In summer the Trenino Verde passes through.
