Esterzili

Esterzili is a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari with about 721 inhabitants, 731 metres above sea level.

Esterzili is a mountain village at over seven hundred metres between the Sarcidano and the Barbagia di Seulo, above the Flumendosa valley. Its name is tied to a famous document, the Tavola di Esterzili, a bronze tablet from AD 69 recording a ruling on a boundary dispute between two peoples, now in the Sassari museum. In the area you can visit Domu de Orgia, a nuragic megaron temple in a panoramic spot, and nuraghi placed as if to guard the valley. The 15th-century church of San Michele Arcangelo was the old parish church.
