Isili

Isili is a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari with about 2,842 inhabitants, 523 metres above sea level.

Isili is the main town of the Sarcidano, at over five hundred metres on a limestone plateau between the Marmilla and Barbagia. It is famous for its craftsmen: coppersmiths who have hand-worked copper for centuries, and rug weavers, and the town has a museum devoted to copper and textiles. Nearby is Nuraghe Is Paras, famous for its tholos, the tallest interior dome of any known nuraghe. In the Zaurrai rock-cut tombs, now inside the town, flows a spring believed to be healing. Lake Is Barroccus lies close by, and the Trenino Verde stops at Isili.
