Serri is a Sarcidano village at over six hundred metres, on the edge of the Giara di Serri, a basalt plateau with views from the Trexenta to the Gennargentu. Legend says it was founded by people from Roman Biora. On the Giara lies the nuragic sanctuary of Santa Vittoria, one of Sardinia's largest and most important: a vast federal complex with a well temple, the festival enclosure, the chief's hut, the assembly enclosure and huts for pilgrims, beside the small medieval church of Santa Vittoria. The village has the 14th-century Romanesque church of San Basilio Magno. On the third Sunday of May the feast of Santa Lucia comes with a livestock fair and paradas stalls serving roast suckling pig and lamb.
