Seui is a Barbagia di Seulo village at over eight hundred metres among woods and mountains, in the Middle Ages the chief town of its region. Its old centre, in the Pes de Idda quarter, keeps multi-storey houses of schist and wood with wrought-iron balconies. The village has several small museums, including the 17th-century Spanish prison and Casa Farci, an Art Nouveau mansion. The area is rich in nuraghi, some at very high altitude, and the nuragic village of Ardasai, and includes the Montarbu forest with its limestone tacchi and the gorges of the Flumendosa; in summer the Trenino Verde passes through. In mid-January great fires, is fogaronis, are lit in every quarter for Sant'Antonio.
