Villa Sant'Antonio

Villa Sant'Antonio is a municipality in the Province of Oristano with about 382 inhabitants, 249 metres above sea level.

Villa Sant'Antonio is a small Alta Marmilla village, founded in the 17th century as Sant'Antonio in the lands of the barony of Senis, in an area extraordinarily rich in prehistoric monuments. The most famous is the Monte Corru Tundu menhir, about six metres tall and one of the most imposing in Sardinia, on a hill near the village. The same area has many more menhirs and numerous rock-cut tombs at Brentoni, Genna Salixi and Riu Imbessu. The village has the 17th-century parish church of Sant'Antonio. Sant'Antonio da Padova is celebrated on the first Sunday of June, and in August the Valle dei Menhir festival offers local produce.
