Ruinas is a small Mandrolisai village on the border with the Marmilla, medieval in origin in the Giudicato of Arborea. Its old centre keeps a traditional look, with dark basalt houses that give it a distinctive character, and the 17th-century parish church of San Giorgio in pink trachyte. A few kilometres away stands the church of San Teodoro, Byzantine in origin. The area has the Su Fossu rock-cut tombs, a few nuraghi and the remains of the Roman village of Ghentiana. The country feast of San Teodoro is held on 19 May, and the patron San Giorgio on 19 August.
