Senis is a small Alta Marmilla village, probably grown around a castle that the judges of Arborea built in the 12th century to guard the road inland. Its territory has anthropomorphic menhirs, found near the Bidda 'e Perda nuraghe, and many nuraghi. The village has kept its multi-storey stone houses along narrow winding streets, arranged almost in a circle around the 13th-century Romanesque church of Santa Lucia. In July the emigrants' feast brings together villagers scattered across Europe, and Saints Cosma and Damiano are celebrated at the end of September.
