Mogorella is a small Alta Marmilla village, probably founded in Roman times as an outpost of nearby Valentia; it lost its independence in the 20th century and regained it in 1950. Its old centre keeps fine bare-stone houses with loggia and large courtyards closed by decorated gateways, around the parish church of San Lorenzo. Among its nuraghi, Friorosu, built of white limestone with a corridor plan, is of particular interest. In May the San Bernardino feast is combined with a mutton festival.
