Thiesi is a large Logudoro village at over four hundred metres, between the Meilogu and the Cabudabbas, which since the 19th century has been one of the main centres of Sardinia's pecorino industry. The town gained the houses of an enterprising farming bourgeoisie along the main street, where the parish church of Santa Vittoria stands. The area holds very many rock-cut tombs; the most famous is Mandra Antine, whose tomb is painted with red spirals and horns, one of the island's finest prehistoric decorations. On the second Sunday of May the feast of Santa Vittoria is organised by the unmarried young women; the most heartfelt feast is that of the Madonna di Seunis at the country church.
