Siligo is a Meilogu village of Roman origin at the foot of Monte Santo, the flat-topped hill crowned by the church of Saints Elia and Enoch, destination of a feast and a traditional walk on Easter Monday. It is the birthplace of the singer Maria Carta, a celebrated voice of Sardinian music, remembered by a foundation. Near the main road stands the Romanesque church of Santa Maria di Bubalis, called Mesumundu, built on the remains of a Roman bath building and given in 1063 to the monks of Montecassino. The area has many nuraghi.
