Giave is a Meilogu village at almost six hundred metres, on volcanic land with extinct cones such as Monte Annaru, above the fertile Campu Giavesu plain. In the 12th century it passed to the Doria. The old centre keeps Logudoro stone houses, and the town hall square is decorated with murals by Franco Farina. The area has the Rio Mulinu rock-cut tombs, among the finest nearby, close to the Sa Sea and Tres Nuraghes towers, and many other nuraghi. Santi Cosimo e Damiano are celebrated on 26 September with a small fair.
