Talana

Talana is a municipality in the Province of Ogliastra with about 1,069 inhabitants, 682 metres above sea level.

Talana is a northern Ogliastra village at almost seven hundred metres on the eastern slopes of the Gennargentu, in a large mountain territory of woods and plateaus. Its territory holds the Is Cannas menhir, a large smooth monolith, and many nuraghi with the Bau 'e Tanca giants' tomb. The village converges on the parish church of Santa Marta, completed in 1916. Among the woods on the road towards Lotzorai stands the little church of Sant'Efisio, where on the first Sunday of May a feast is held linked to the legend of a lost child who was found.
