Ogliastra, squeezed between the Gennargentu mountains and the sea, is known for its centenarians and for the Gulf of Orosei below Baunei: Cala Goloritzé with its spire, Cala Mariolu and Cala Sisine, reachable by boat or on demanding trails.
Cala Goloritzé is a natural monument reached only on foot, with limited, paid access in summer. Further south, the red porphyry rocks of Arbatax drop into the sea.
