Soddì is one of Sardinia's smallest municipalities, in the Guilcier near Lake Omodeo, medieval in origin in the Giudicato of Arborea. It was a hamlet of Ghilarza and regained its independence after the Second World War. The area has several nuraghi. The village has stone houses with large courtyards and arched gateways and the 15th-century church of the Spirito Santo. On 16 and 17 January, for Sant'Antonio, sa tuva, a large hollow tree, is burned in the square amid dancing and singing, and in summer Santa Maria Maddalena is celebrated at her chapel.
