Gadoni

Gadoni is a municipality in the Province of Nuoro with about 886 inhabitants, 696 metres above sea level.

Gadoni is a mountain village in the Barbagia di Belvì, at almost seven hundred metres above the Flumendosa valley. Its origins are probably Roman, tied to the Funtana Raminosa copper mine, active until the 20th century and now visitable as part of the Geo-mining Park. In the village are the 16th-century late-Gothic parish church of the Assunta and the church of Santa Marta, also 16th century and once the parish church. The biggest feast is Santa Marta in late July, with three days of events.
