Sardara

Sardara is a municipality in the Province of Medio Campidano with about 4,168 inhabitants, 155 metres above sea level.

Sardara is a Marmilla village on the road between Cagliari and Oristano, famous for its thermal waters: in Roman times the settlement of Aquae Neapolitanae stood here, and today the Sardara Baths, near the church of Santa Maria de is Acquas, are one of the island's main spa resorts. In the Sa Costa quarter of the village lies the nuragic sanctuary of Sant'Anastasia, with a sacred well and village beside the church of the same name; its finds are shown in the Villa Abbas civic museum. On a nearby hill rise the ruins of Monreale castle, a fortress of the Giudicato of Arborea. The feast of Santa Maria de is Acquas is held in two parts, in May and September, with a big folk festival.
