Mogoro is a Marmilla town between the Campidano and Monte Arci, famous for weaving: its rugs and tapestries, made on the loom with traditional motifs, are shown each summer at one of the island's major craft fairs. The area is rich in archaeology: the Ozieri-culture village of Puisteris on a hill above the plain, and Nuraghe Cuccurada, a complex with a large village. The old centre has stone houses with big courtyards around the parish church of San Bernardino, celebrated on 20 May, and the February carnival is one of the liveliest around.
