Sant'Andrea Frius

Sant'Andrea Frius is a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari with about 1,834 inhabitants, 300 metres above sea level.

Sant'Andrea Frius is a village between the Trexenta and the Gerrei at three hundred metres, built on an old Punic military post on the road between Cagliari and Isili, later a Roman garrison against raids by the inland Barbaricini. The area has several nuraghi and the Linna Pertunta site with the remains of a Punic-Roman building of large blocks. The village has the 17th-century parish church of Sant'Andrea, the patron celebrated on 30 November. Its fields are planted with almond trees, celebrated with a festival, and Carnival is also keenly felt.
