Villaurbana is a village at the foot of Monte Arci, between the Oristano Campidano and the Marmilla, Punic-Roman in origin: by tradition it grew along the road between Neapolis and Forum Traiani. The area has many nuraghi. Its most important building is the Baroque parish church of Santa Margherita, built between 1715 and 1717 on the ruins of a 13th-century Romanesque church, which holds two old statues of the saint. Trails lead from the village to Monte Arci and its obsidian outcrops, and Santa Margherita is celebrated on 20 July.
