Pozzomaggiore is a Meilogu village at over four hundred metres, in an area with dozens of nuraghi and a strong equestrian and pastoral tradition; in the Middle Ages it belonged to the Giudicato of Torres. Its centre keeps the Gothic-Aragonese parish church of San Giorgio and the 16th-century church of Sant'Antonio Abate, attached to an Augustinian convent, with a marble high altar and wooden statues. The most heartfelt feast is San Costantino on 6 and 7 July, with the ardie, horse races around the little church in the saint's honour.
