Padria

Padria is a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Sassari with about 695 inhabitants, 304 metres above sea level.

Padria is a Meilogu village on the border with the Planargia, heir to Roman Gurulis Vetus, which tradition linked to the mythical Orgylle. Its territory holds rock-cut tombs, the pre-nuragic village of Sos Caniles 'e Campusantu and many nuraghi, and finds from this long past are displayed in the Archaeological Museum in the former granary. The old centre gathers around the church of Santa Giulia, built in 1520 in Gothic-Aragonese style with a spired bell tower. Feasts are held on 22 May for the patron Santa Giulia and twice for Sant'Antonio, in January and on 2 October, with bonfires.
