Ovodda is a Barbagia di Ollolai village at 710 metres between Fonni, Gavoi and Tiana, in an area very rich in nuragic sites; the most interesting is Oseli, with a nuraghe and village set in greenery. The parish church of San Giorgio is 17th-century late Gothic, and a few kilometres away stands the church of San Pietro on the site of the vanished village of Oleri, built after 1473 to mark an agreement between the people of Gavoi and Ovodda. Its most original feast is Carnival, which peaks on Ash Wednesday, Mehuris de Lessia, when the whole village parades in masks with faces blackened with soot.
