Nurallao is a Sarcidano village of Punic-Roman origin, a satellite of ancient Valentia and later part of the Giudicato of Arborea, with a traditional centre and a few 19th-century mansions. The area's most evocative monument is the Aiodda giants' tomb from the early Bronze Age, built by reusing some older statue-menhirs. Just outside the village, in a green area, stands the church of the Madonna della Strada, and in mid-January the villagers build a great pyre in the square for the Sant'Antonio bonfire.
