Nuragus

Nuragus is a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari with about 942 inhabitants, 359 metres above sea level.

Nuragus is a Sarcidano village between the Giara and Isili, with the hamlet of Lixius, grown from small Punic settlements on which the Roman post of Valentia arose, important on the Cagliari-Olbia road. Its name recalls the many nuraghi in its territory, nearly twenty. In the village are the 18th-century Casa Carboni Boi and the 17th-century parish church of Santa Maria Maddalena, and the most evocative feast is Sant'Elia on 5 July.
