Nulvi is an Anglona village on a hill between Sassari and Castelsardo, founded in the Middle Ages in an area that passed to the Doria. Its old centre keeps fine traditional palattu houses, some elegant 19th-century ones, and the parish church of the Assunta. The village is famous for its Candelieri feast on 14 August, when, as in Sassari, giant wooden candles are carried in procession by the guilds. The area is rich in nuraghi, including the imposing Irru in the Binzales valley.
