Chiaramonti is an Anglona village spread over the flanks of a hill on whose top the Doria built a castle in the 13th century; the village grew quickly around the fortress, whose ruins now offer a view over the whole region. Its territory, one of Anglona's largest, is extremely rich in nuraghi, with over forty scattered across hills and plateaus. It makes a good base for exploring Anglona and the Coghinas valley.
