Las Plassas

Las Plassas is a municipality in the Province of Medio Campidano with about 257 inhabitants, 148 metres above sea level.

Las Plassas is a small Marmilla village dominated by a perfectly conical hill crowned by the ruins of the castle of Marmilla, built by the judges of Arborea to guard the border with the Giudicato of Cagliari. At the foot of the hill a multimedia museum tells the story of the castle and the Giudicato. The area has several nuraghi, including S'Uraxi, a multi-tower nuraghe with the remains of a large village, and Su Nuraxi at Barumini is minutes away. On 20 January, for San Sebastiano, the orange festival draws people from all around.
