Buddusò

Buddusò is a municipality in the Province of Gallura North-East Sardinia with about 3,979 inhabitants, 700 metres above sea level.

Buddusò is a granite town at seven hundred metres on the plateau between Monte Acuto and Gallura: its quarries are among the most important in Italy, and granite is everywhere, from paved streets to stone houses. Founded in the Middle Ages in the Giudicato of Torres, its large cork-covered territory is one of northern Sardinia's richest in nuraghi, with some thirty towers and several rock-cut tombs. The parish church of Sant'Anastasia stands in the centre, and on the first Sunday of September people gather at the country chapel of Santa Reparata.
