Pattada

Pattada is a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Sassari with about 3,253 inhabitants, 778 metres above sea level.

Pattada is a Monte Acuto village at almost eight hundred metres, with the hamlet of Bantine, among holm-oak and cork woods. It is famous throughout Sardinia for its knives, sa pattadesa, the classic myrtle-leaf blade with a mouflon or ram horn handle, still forged by hand by the village knife-makers. The old centre keeps steep winding streets with old granite houses and the parish church of Santa Sabina from 1558. Its territory, rich in nuraghi, includes Lake Lerno. Carnival ends with a parade and a large communal lunch.
