Benetutti is a Goceano village famous for its thermal waters, already used by the Romans: the San Saturnino springs along the Tirso are still visited for their warm waters. Founded in the Middle Ages in the Giudicato of Torres, it was important even then thanks to the springs.
The area is an open-air museum: the Maone dolmen, dozens of rock-cut tombs and a great many nuraghi. In the village the 15th-century Gothic-Aragonese parish church of Sant'Elena holds a fine altarpiece. The patron's feast on 18 August brings emigrants home from around the world, with dances, costumed processions and poetry contests.
