Ardauli is a Barigadu village overlooking Lake Omodeo, in an area inhabited without interruption from prehistory to Byzantine times, with rock-cut tombs, nuraghi and Roman remains. In the Middle Ages it belonged to the Giudicato of Arborea.
The old centre gathers around the parish church of the Vergine del Buon Cammino, and at the entrance to the village stands the 18th-century church of Santi Cosimo e Damiano. Its loveliest tradition is Su coccoi: on the night of 31 December a small decorated bread is baked and given in the morning to the children who knock on doors.
