Ussana is a Parteolla village about twenty kilometres from Cagliari, inhabited since the Neolithic and Roman in origin: it grew from a settlement near the road from Cagliari to the interior. In the Middle Ages it belonged to the Giudicato of Cagliari. The old centre keeps mud-brick houses with loggias on the courtyard around the 16th-century parish church of San Sebastiano. Its fields grow cereals, vines and olives, and the Parteolla wineries and Trexenta villages are minutes away.
