Seneghe is a Montiferru village at three hundred metres, founded by tradition by the people of the vanished village of Milis piccinnu, who moved here in the late 14th century. Its old centre branches out from the parish church, with noble houses whose gateways and windows are decorated in basalt. Seneghe is famous for its extra virgin olive oil, among the best in Italy, and for the red ox of Montiferru. In September it hosts Cabudanne de sos poetas, one of the island's most original poetry and music festivals. The area holds the pre-nuragic village of Narbu and very many nuraghi. The feast of the patron San Sebastiano runs from 20 to 22 January, and at Carnival there is dancing in the square and riding through the streets.
