San Vero Milis is a village in the Campidano di Milis on the edge of the Sinis, whose territory stretches to the sea with the hamlets of Putzu Idu, Mandriola and Su Pallosu and the beaches of S'Arena Scoada and Sa Rocca Tunda. Inhabited since the Neolithic, its lagoon shores have yielded the Copper Age village of Sal'e Porcus and the Saline rock-cut tombs. The village has the early 13th-century church of Santa Sofia with a Romanesque chancel in two-tone bands, the 17th-century church of San Michele Arcangelo and that of the Vergine delle Grazie. On 10 September the country feast of San Nicola da Tolentino, revived in 1980, renews an old tradition.
