Milis is the village of oranges: at the foot of the Montiferru, sheltered from the wind, it is surrounded by citrus groves famous across the island. Its origins go back to nuragic times, and it was an important military post under the Romans and Byzantines. On the main square stand the Gothic-Aragonese parish church of San Sebastiano and Palazzo Boyl, built in the 19th century as a noble family's country house and now used for events, and just outside is the Romanesque church of San Paolo. In November the new wine show draws visitors from all over Sardinia.
