Baratili San Pietro is a small farming village in the Oristano Campidano, a few kilometres from the Sinis. Founded in the Middle Ages in the Giudicato of Arborea, it has always been a place of vegetable plots and vineyards: the irrigated land along the streams, the iscas, produced vegetables and fruit, and today the area is known for Vernaccia di Oristano.
Its main monument is the 18th-century Baroque parish church of San Salvatore, where the patron's feast is held on 6 August. The village is a handy base for the beaches of Is Arutas and Putzu Idu and for Tharros.
