Giba is a lowland village in the lower Sulcis, with the hamlet of Villarios, a few kilometres from the sea at Porto Pino and the Sant'Antioco lagoon. The area was frequented as early as the 4th and 3rd millennium BC and keeps Ozieri-culture rock-cut tombs and many nuraghi; in Roman times a road to Tratalias crossed it. The village spreads around the parish church of San Pietro, rebuilt in the mid-20th century. The main feast is the Madonna del Rimedio on 10 September, with costumes and horsemen.
