Curcuris is a tiny Alta Marmilla village among bare hills and woods at the foot of Monte Arci, crossed only by the Sa Murta stream. Founded in the Middle Ages in the Giudicato of Arborea, it lost its independence in the 20th century and regained it only in 1979. The area has the Soru nuraghe and a giants' tomb at Santa Maria. Its most curious tradition is on 20 January, when the statue of San Sebastiano is tied to a tree hung with oranges, following a very old rite.
