Villaspeciosa is a Campidano village between Decimomannu and Siliqua, on the Cixerri plain, in an area inhabited without interruption from nuragic times to the early Middle Ages. It has a nuraghe with a village and a well temple fed by a still-active spring, and the site of San Cromazio, a late Roman settlement. Beside this site stands the 12th-century Romanesque church of San Platano, with two aisles and built partly with reused materials. The village has the 17th-century parish church of the Assunta. San Platano is celebrated at his church on the last Sunday of August, and on the third Sunday of November the feast of the Madonna del Rosario fulfils an old vow.
