Teulada

Teulada is a municipality in the Province of Sulcis Iglesiente with about 3,773 inhabitants, 50 metres above sea level.

Teulada is a village in the far south of Sardinia a few kilometres from the sea, with a large territory that includes some of the island's most beautiful stretches of coast. In Roman times the city of Tegula stood on the isthmus of Capo Teulada, now within a military area. Teulada's coast offers Tuerredda beach with its islet and turquoise water, Cala Piscinni, Capo Malfatano with its tower and Porto Tramatzu, and the panoramic road along it is one of Sardinia's finest. The village has the parish church of the Vergine del Carmelo, the late Gothic church of San Francesco and an old tower. Teulada is also known for embroidery and weaving. A fishermen's festival is held in July.
