Santa Teresa Gallura

Santa Teresa Gallura is a municipality in the Province of Gallura North-East Sardinia with about 5,018 inhabitants, 44 metres above sea level.

Santa Teresa Gallura is Sardinia's northernmost town, overlooking the Strait of Bonifacio opposite Corsica, which can be reached by ferry. It was founded in 1808 by the House of Savoy on a grid plan around the church of San Vittorio, below the 16th-century Aragonese tower of Longonsardo. Its territory is one of Gallura's most beautiful: Rena Bianca beach below the town, the Capo Testa headland with granite rocks sculpted by the wind, the Valle della Luna and the old Roman quarry, and the coves of Santa Reparata and Rena di Ponente. Near the town lies the Lu Brandali nuraghe with a village and giants' tomb. The feast of Santa Reparata, on the second Sunday of September, is organised by the suprastanti committee.
