Narcao is a Sulcis village with many hamlets scattered across the countryside, founded around a medieval Benedictine monastery. The surrounding hills are dotted with nuraghi placed in a chain, within sight of each other. At Terreseu are the remains of a Punic sanctuary to Demeter, and parts of the 13th-century Benedictine church of San Nicola di Bari survive. The Rosas mine, now an eco-museum, tells the area's mining history, and in July Narcao Blues brings internationally known musicians to the village.
