Gonnosfanadiga

Gonnosfanadiga is a municipality in the Province of Medio Campidano with about 6,702 inhabitants, 180 metres above sea level.

Gonnosfanadiga is a Medio Campidano town at the foot of the Linas massif, formed by the union of two ancient villages, Gonnos and Fanadiga. It is famous for its olive groves and oil, among Sardinia's most acclaimed. The area has a Neolithic village at Terra 'e Seddaris, a menhir at Muruotta and several nuraghi, and the Linas mountains above offer woods, trails and waterfalls. In town are the early 14th-century Gothic parish church of Santa Barbara and the large church of the Sacred Heart. On Easter Monday engaged couples make a pilgrimage to Santa Severa.
