Borore is a Marghine village, once called Gorare, on the edge of the Abbasanta plateau. Its territory is one of Sardinia's richest in nuragic monuments: some twenty nuraghi, a few among the most interesting on the island, and several giants' tombs, including Imbertighe with its great intact stele. In the village are the 17th-century parish church of the Vergine del Carmelo and the church of San Lussorio on the outskirts, where the saint's feast is held on 21 August.
