Birori is a small Marghine village between Macomer and Bortigali, founded in the Middle Ages in the Giudicato of Torres and later disputed between the Doria and the Arborea. Though small, its territory is among the richest in prehistoric monuments in the area: a dozen nuraghi, many giants' tombs, rock-cut tombs and the Sas Bogadas dolmen.
In the village stands the simple parish church of Sant'Andrea, probably 16th century. In mid-January the great bonfire of Sant'Antonio Abate is lit with wood gathered by the whole village.
