Badesi

Badesi is a municipality in the Province of Gallura North-East Sardinia with about 1,898 inhabitants, 102 metres above sea level.

Badesi is a young village on Gallura's north-west coast overlooking the Gulf of Asinara. Inhabited in Roman times and then abandoned for centuries, the area was resettled by Gallurese shepherds and only became a municipality in the 20th century; since the 1970s it has grown with tourism.

The main draw is its long sandy beaches with dunes and junipers stretching to the mouth of the Coghinas, and Vermentino vineyards that almost reach the sea. In the village stands the church of the Sacred Heart, built in the late 19th century to fulfil a vow. The patron saint's feast in June lasts three days.
