Villa San Pietro

Villa San Pietro is a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari with about 2,009 inhabitants, 37 metres above sea level.

Villa San Pietro is a small village on the south-west shore of the Gulf of Cagliari, between Sarroch and Pula, at the foot of the mountains rising towards the Sulcis. The area has been inhabited since pre-nuragic times, with a rock-cut tomb, the Mereu nuraghe and two giants' tombs, but the village itself arose in the 15th century, when part of the old district of Nora passed to the Carroz family. The village keeps mud-brick houses on stone foundations and the parish church of San Pietro. The patron's feast on 29 June lasts three days, and the Nora archaeological site and Pula's beaches are minutes away.
