Sarroch is a town on the south-west shore of the Gulf of Cagliari, between Capoterra and Villa San Pietro, now known mostly for its large refinery. The present village dates from the 18th century, but its territory holds ancient monuments. The most important is the Antigori nuraghe, in a panoramic spot over the gulf, where Mycenaean and Cypriot pottery was found, evidence of nuragic contacts with the eastern Mediterranean. The village has the 17th-century church of San Giorgio, the former parish church, and the 19th-century parish church of Santa Vittoria. On 1 May the Sant'Efisio procession passes through on its way from Cagliari to Nora.
