San Teodoro

San Teodoro is a municipality in the Province of Gallura North-East Sardinia with about 4,540 inhabitants, 15 metres above sea level.

San Teodoro is one of the best-known resorts in south-east Gallura, between Olbia and Posada, facing the island of Tavolara. It was founded in the 17th century by shepherds from Posada who moved towards the lagoon to graze their flocks, and has grown with tourism. Its territory has some of the island's finest beaches: La Cinta, a long strip of white sand between the sea and the lagoon where flamingos can be seen, Cala Brandinchi, nicknamed little Tahiti, Lu Impostu and Isuledda. In summer the village, gathered around Piazza Gallura, is very lively. On 16 and 17 January Sant'Antoni di lu focu ends with a great bonfire in the square.
